Reply to a selected part of an e mail.

Like most tricks, I stumbled upon that by accident. whether you just want to reply or forward a selected portion of an newsletter in Mail, just drag to highlight the portion of the mail and visit reply or forward. Comes in handy for those distant threads.

Turn simple Screen Sharing in to Apple Remote Desktop (nearly)

Find the screen sharing application and put it in the dock for future convenience. It is found at /System/Library/CoreServices/Screen Sharing.app
Type that into terminal (it allows you to see netowrked computers that can be controlled):
defaults write com.apple.ScreenSharing ShowBonjourBrowser_Debug 1

Getting Sleepy

Did you know you can easily put your mac to sleep by pressing command-option-eject (if you have a committed eject key on your keyboard). You’ll need to hold ‘eject’ for a couple of seconds.
How about just sleeping your display? try shift-control-eject!

iCal Coverflow

We all know “coverflow” is pretty cool. You may or may not use it often. Previously we’ve covered how to view your system fonts with coverflow, but how about that neat trick to view your iCal events?
In Finder, switch to Cover Flow view mode (View -> As Cover Flow), soon after press Command-F to place the cursor in the Finder 

Photo Booth Effects on User history Pic without iSight

I have a mac mini. It is cool although you do not get an iSight with it! I hate it! However, your user pic can have special effects.
Pop open Address Book.app and visit your user explanation entry and edit the picture, there should be a swirly icon that you can compose an effect with your pic! (NOTE: that may not take effect until a reboot!)

Menu’s and the option key

I was just fooling around with the menubar in Finder when I found that whether you press the ‘option’ key you get some different options. Try it. visit on the Apple (top left) to show the menu, next press “option”. Notice some items change? Try it on the other menu’s (file, edit, etc).
