Denso to use huge amount of snow stored in a building for air conditioning!

Denso Corp, Japan will introduce an air conditioning system that cools air using snow held in storage The system at the plant to be built in the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido will use a huge amount of snow stored in a building at the site and allow the company to reduce use of electricity. Denso aims to slash energy costs and cut carbon dioxide emissions to reduce burdens on the global environment. At the 24-billion-yen plant in Chitose, Denso is

set to produce electronic parts for stabilizing movements of auto body and other automobile parts from April 2009. The company has been struggling with the huge amount of electricity needed to maintain temperatures at its electronic parts plants for quality control.

At its existing plants, Denso is taking steps to protect the environment, such as adopting wind capability generation using wind from exhaust vents and water ability generation using water drained from a facility located on a hill.
