This transparent toaster you see here is the DT08 slide toaster concept that could actually operate as well as it looks. According to Daniel Thomas’s concept design, the toasting element is retained, allowing you to know by sight whether your toast is about to

be badly burnt or not instead of relying on your sense of smell.
