Fake Jobs Heart-Attack Posting Batters Apple’s Stock

“It is not true. There is no truth to the rumor.” That was the terse denial issued by Katie Cotton, vice president of worldwide communications for Apple, in response to a post on CNN’s iReport that Apple CEO Steve Jobs suffered a heart attack Friday.

The report, which was pulled from the iReport site at about 10:15 a.m., was dramatic: “Steve Jobs was rushed to the ER just a few hours ago after suffering a major heart attack.

I have an insider who tells me that paramedics were called after Steve claimed to be suffering from severe chest pains and shortness of breath. My source has opted to remain anonymous, but he is quite dependable.”
