The Footlume rug is definitely something different and new when it comes to floor fashion, functioning as some sort of glowing runway particularly during the night when you are prone to stub your toe against a wayward toy or misplaced furniture. Since the glow emitted is extremely soft, you don’t have to anguish about having it disturb your sleep pattern, making it double up as the perfect fodder for ambient mood

lighting. Rechargeable batteries are used to keep the lights going, and the Footlume comes with a weight sensor that kicks in whenever somebody walks across the carpet. The Footlume is but a prototype as at press moment, so it might take a while before a commercial version is rolled out.
