Fujitsu Media develops world’s smallest SAW duplexers and filters for W-CDMA
![]()
Fujitsu Media has developed the world’s smallest SAW duplexers (for bands I, II, IV, V and VIII) for W-CDMA mobile phones and SAW filters for GSM (850, 900, 1800 and 1900) technology, using a hermetic seal structure. Use of these devices will contribute to the production of smaller and more advanced mobile phones that can be used worldwide. The devices are compatible with interfaces for the currently predominant transceiver ICs. The SAW duplexers use a 50Ω unbalanced interface for the antenna and transmitter pins and a 100Ω balanced interface for the receiver pins. The SAW filter’s input
The SAW duplexers are 2 x 1.6mm (with a maximum height of 0.5mm) and 2.5 x 2mm (with a maximum height of 0.6mm). loner SAW filters (for GSM 850 and 900) are 1.1 x 0.9 mm (with a maximum height of 0.5mm) and dual filters (for GSM 850 and 900, or 1800 and 1900) are 1.5 x 1.1mm (with a maximum height of 0.5mm). Samples will be available beginning in July. Mass production is expected to start in the first quarter of FY2009.
