GCT and Asus demonstrate WiMAX

GCT and Asus have teamed up to demonstrate the GCT GDM7205 WiMAX single-chip integrated circuit which has been included in the ASUS F8 notebook series and EeePC at the upcoming WiMAX Expo in Taipei later that week. According to Dr. Kyeongho (KH) Lee, President and CEO of GCT Semiconductor, Inc. :-

“We’re excited to be providing GDM7205 to help ASUS create their state-of-the-art notebooks equipped with the advanced features

and capabilities of WiMAX. GCT’s single-chip WiMAX solutions enable lower capability consumption for longer battery life, smaller form-factor design and lower bill or materials cost.”

Well, I still can’t help but wish the WiMAX version of the Eee PC would manufacture it Stateside.
