Google, Facebook Should Screen User Video — UK

The UK House of Commons’ Culture Media and Sport Committee has made the insane recommendation that web service companies, including Google, Facebook and others, should SCREEN ALL USER VIDEOS before they go online. Google says the proposal wouldn’t work,

as 10 hours of video are posted on Google’s YouTube every minute. Google’s current system of censorship relies on user reports of offensive subject matter, which the company says are removed within an hour.
