Google Targets Digg

Not in a negative but positive manner, of course. The company that claims that it won’t do evil is extremely interested in Digg, and are willing to pony up to $200 million for it. At least, that’s what the numbers show when spewed on the street despite a whole host of denials from Google and Digg executives. Some insider knowledge have pointed towards a

deal being in its final negotiations, and whether everything goes well, Digg will be part of Google News. Interestingly adequate, Digg is tied down to a three-year advertising deal with Microsoft, so expect that agreement to come to an end whether Google managed to snag that company.
