MacBook Air Has Problems; AppleTV Delayed
Following Steve Jobs’ announcements at Macworld a few weeks ago, Apple has announced that the MacBook Air is shipping, but new AppleTV software has been delayed two weeks.
At Macworld, Jobs announced version 2.0 of AppleTV. With the update, customers are expected to be able to download high-definition movies from their widescreen television sets. Apple said the software is “not quite finished.”
Apple additionally expects to have 1,000 movies available on its iTunes Store by the end of February, 100 of them in high-definition.
Jobs had announced deals with all six of the major studios — 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Walt Disney, Paramount, Universal and Sony — to supply movies. New films will not be available on iTunes until 30 days after they are released on DVD.
