Microsoft Labs Releases Outlook ‘mail Prioritizer’

Darn it. Just as I liberate myself from Microsoft Outlook, the Microsoft Outlook Labs team has to go and do something like that: They’ve released a prototype plug-in for Outlook 2007 that re-arranges e-mail in your inbox based on which is most critical. How does it determine that? It uses an impressive algorithm to analyze each knowledge based on the relationship of sender to recipient, date sent — even key phrases in the letter. mail Prioritizer

has two really useful features:

1. When you change the priority of a notice, the system “learns” from that, and tries harder next day; and

2. It has a “Do Not Disturb” feature, which makes e-mail go away for the amount of duration you specify before re-appearing in your inbox.
