New SDK Hints to Obvious: the 3G iPhone is Coming
![]()
Someone has looked into the new iPhone SDK and noticed that it contains an string mentioning a SGOLD3 chipset from Infineon (they additionally built the 2.5G chipset for the current iPhone). Anyhow, that is not like hardcore hacking or something, but it provides a tip to what iPhone 2 will be capable of:
- 7.2Mbps HSDPA (3.5G)
- Up to 5 Megapixel photo processing
- Mpeg4/H.264 decoder
All signs point to a June release, just as I predicted back in Oct 2007.
