Nintendo Leads in Sales of Video-Game Consoles

In the wake of the big E3 trade show in Los Angeles, sales reports show the Nintendo Wii is the leading video-game console in the U.S. that year.

According to the NPD Group, a market-research firm, Wii sales in the U.S. in June brought the total for the year to 10.9 million. that news must have been particularly disappointing to Microsoft, whose executives declared at E3 that the Xbox 360 would be the final winner in the console wars. Vice President Shane Kim told news media that the declaration only referred to the Xbox 360 versus Sony’s PlayStation 3.


Sales Top 666,000 in June
