No iPod Touch $20 upgrade available in many countries

The recently announced $20 software upgrade for the Apple iPod Touch is not available for Apple customers in the Gulf countries and other countries with no iTunes store support and as far as I know, you cannot walk into any of the local Apple representative stores and buy it - in fact Apple themselves are not in many countries.

The lack of being able to obtain the upgrade legally will

obviously encourage eager iPod Touch users to obtain the apps “elsewhere” which is not in the interest of Apple or its customers.

It is time for an international Apple iTunes store - and given what Amazon is up to - this just might be happening in the not so distant future - I mean how can you fight pirates if they have no option to buy the legal versions?
