Nokia Interactive Touch Screen Keypad

Nokia did file a patent back in 2006 that deals with a new user interface which relies on an interactive touch screen keypad. that patent application sees a cell phone with dual displays, where the bottom will feature capacitative touch screen functionality ala the Nintendo DS. You won’t be deprived of the standard Nokia keypad though, as it is still there for easy access to answering/rejecting phone calls as well as accessing menu items. Guess Nokia is

a little bit too late to the game considering how that view is already available in other handsets at point of publishing. I wonder when will that patent application see light on an actual Nokia handset - perhaps when they decide to revamp their user interface?
