SanDisk unveils Vaulter Disk: Internal flash based storage for the PC

SanDisk has announced a new internal flash-based storage option for the PC, being called the Vaulter Disk and will work not as a loner drive but in conjunction with your current hard disk drive. With the two drives working together you should see a nice performance increase.

The Vaulter Disk works simultaneously with the traditional hard drive and allows for files that are more frequently used to be accessed at a faster rate.

The Vaulter Disk would host the computers operating system and optional details that can be chosen by the user, while the hard drive will host the remaining files, user generated subject matter and applications that will not benefit from the faster response times.

The Vaulter Disk is set to be offered to OEM’s beginning next year and will be in storage options from 8GB to 16GB.
