Truemark Service Available for PayPal Customers
Iconix, a provider of visual e-mail identification solutions, announced that its Iconix Truemark service is officially available to millions of PayPal history holders.
By placing an icon next to valid e-mail messages, the Iconix Truemark service helps consumers visually identify valid e-mail messages and avoid dangerous scams known as phishing attacks.
As phishers’ attacks become increasingly sophisticated and prevalent, consumers can take action in the fight against phishing by using the Iconix service to easily identify safe e-mail messages. According to a recent survey by Gartner Inc., phishing attacks robbed 3.6 million citizens of $3.2 billion in 2007, a 40 percent growth by 2006. In addition to PayPal, the Iconix service identifies valid e-mail messages from nearly 500 other companies, including financial and retail organizations such as eBay, Best Buy and Dell.
