Yahoo oneConnect: Communications and Social Networking in your Pocket

[MWC] Yahoo is launching oneConnect, a communications and social networking mobile application. The concept behind it is simple: it’s about citizens. Yahoo oneConnect can hold your contacts data and tell you whether they are available on YIM or MSN Messenger. From the Contact screen you can additionally map a route to that contact’s address or check emails exchanged with that person.

The social networking aspect lets you know what your friends are up to considering Yahoo has built bridges to Bebo, Facebook, MySpace LinkedIn

and many other popular services. You can even sort your friends by location.

The user interface is really nice, and we will analysis the service as soon as the download becomes available. From the screenshots, it looks like it is compatible with Microsoft Exchange – and whether that’s true, it would have further ramifications… stay tuned and come back to Ubergizmo for an update.
